Requirements in this standard apply to power assist doors, low energy power operated doors of low energy power open doors for pedestrian use and not provided for in ANSI A156.10 (BHMA 1601). Included are provisions intended to reduce the chance of user injury or entrapment.
This standard does not attempt to assess any factors that may exist with respect to custom design installations which may or may not meet the requirements of this Standard.
Required dimensions are expressed first and the SI (metric) equivalents given in parenthesis are approximate.
